The University of Law (ULaw) is one of the world's largest law schools. With an impressive history dating back to 1876, we employ over 900 staff and have over 14,000 students studying on our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, along with an alumni network in excess of 100,000.In 2016, we opened our leading Business School, further enhancing our reputation as a full service legal, business and educational training specialist, operating from campuses throughout the UK, Berlin and Hong Kong and an Online campus.
Due to significant student growth, we are looking to recruit law tutors; qualified solicitors, barristers and law academics who can demonstrate successful legal practice/academic experience to work at our Leeds and/or Newcastle campuses.
You will enjoy being challenged (by students and course content in equal measure) and be able to adapt to the different learning styles of students and methods of course delivery. You will be eager to share your expertise and become involved in all aspects of enhancing the student experience within our campuses, primarily teaching on our SQE, LPC, GDL, LLB & BPC programmes. Please note that classes are also routinely delivered over weekends and evenings and tutors are expected to work flexibly within these parameters.
We offer an excellent range of competitive benefits including a generous annual leave allowance, private medical scheme, contributory pension scheme, life assurance, training and qualifications, and travel loans. As part of the tutor development programme, we will also support you to study for a recognised teaching qualification within your first 18 months of employment.
Please note, CVs will not be considered and only application forms are accepted for this role.

What do we offer?
We offer an inclusive and supportive work environment and are committed to developing our staff through a variety of means including educational sponsorship, discounted course fees and a range of in-house training. We also offer a generous annual leave allowance and private medical insurance.
Our approach
Equity and Inclusion is central to everything we do. We are actively committed to promoting and participating in good practice in the way we attract and retain staff, as we appreciate the value and benefits of a truly diverse workforce. Aligned to this is the opportunity to join one of our three peer staff networks for Disabled staff, LGBTQ+ staff and staff from an underrepresented race, ethnicity and/or cultural heritage.
We celebrate difference and recognise the benefits that this brings to our inclusive culture, including age, disability, gender identity and expression, religion, race, sex, sexual orientation and socio-economic background. The University is committed to ensuring our workforce is reflective of our diverse student population and wider society; we are striving to increase the representation of Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds across all roles and at all levels. All appointments will be made on merit.
