An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Examinations and Assessment Co-ordinator to join the busy Postgraduate Exams and Assessments team within the College of Business and Social Sciences. The post is offered on a fixed term basis for 18 months.
Working closely with the Examinations and Assessment Leads, you will assist with co-ordinating the day-to-day running, organisation and delivery of the examinations and assessment processes for all programmes and modules in BSS College.
You will provide administrative support for Examination Boards, chasing, entering and checking all assessment marks, updating the student records system (SITS) and informing students of results by strict deadlines. You will also assist with the collection of assessment data, reviewing submission deadline schedules, setting up coursework submission links on our VLE (Blackboard) and formatting examination papers. In addition, the role involves providing confidential administrative support for exceptional circumstances and disciplinary processes, including providing advice to students, recording accurate information, organising panels and informing students of decisions.
Educated to A-level or equivalent, with at least a Grade C in GCSE Maths and English, you will have relevant experience of working in an administrative role, preferably within the Higher Education sector. You will also need a strong customer focus, preferably with experience of regular interaction with students. Excellent written and verbal skills are essential for this role, along with high levels of accuracy when managing data and the ability to prioritise and meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision. Experience of working with SITS and Blackboard is also desirable.
Anonymous shortlisting will be carried out for this role as part of Aston University’s commitment to equality and diversity and ensuring a fair and consistent approach to recruitment. Personal details that are included on application forms, including the candidate’s name and address will not be disclosed to the shortlisting panel.
