Our department

The department of Naval Architecture, Ocean and Marine Engineering (NAOME) has extensive experience and expertise in offshore wind power, naval architecture, marine safety, offshore engineering and marine renewable energy. Strathclyde is the largest university-based centre supporting teaching and research concerned with offshore wind and marine renewable energy structures that are safe, cost-competitive, and environmentally sensitive.  Applications are invited from individuals performing cutting-edge research on design, manufacturing and analysis of renewable energy devices such as offshore wind, tidal energy, wave energy, and floating solar.

This role may be a joint appointment with the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, Civil Environmental Engineering or Mechanical Aerospace Engineering.

* Your Fellowship will normally be at lecturer level (exceptionally, at senior lecturer (Grade 9) (£56,048 - £63,059) where you have a strong track record in research leadership) for 5 years, with the expectation that you’ll meet our promotion criteria within that period and be transferred to senior lecturer (or, where you’ve been appointed as a senior lecturer, Reader) level.
