About the Role
We are pleased to offer a Research Assistant or Postdoctoral Research Assistant post under the supervision of Prof Maria Liakata on explainability of Natural Language Processing models involving rumour verification, summarisation and longitudinal predictions in the context of Liakata’s UKRI/EPSRC Turing AI fellowship, on Creating time-sensitive sensors from user generated language and heterogeneous content.
About You
Candidates must have an Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science, with knowledge of Natural Language Processing (NLP) and machine learning methods. Applicants must have experience in working on explainability of NLP and machine learning models, while experience in working with rumour verification and multi-modal models is desirable. PDRA applicants must also have a PhD in NLP; for RA applicants, a Masters in Computer Science would be an advantage.

The post is based at the Mile End Campus in London. It is a full-time (35 hours per week), fixed-term appointment for 21 months, and is expected start in March 2023 or as soon as possible. The starting salary will be in the range of Grade 4, £34,619 - £36,411 per annum pro rata for a RA and Grade 4 £37,348 - £43,592 per annum pro rata for a PDRA inclusive of London Allowance.
