The role
The School of Sociology, Politics and International Studies (SPAIS) is seeking to appoint an outstanding early career researcher and teacher to the post of Pathway 1 (Research and Teaching Focused) Lecturer in Climate Change, Politics & Society.
The successful candidate will have a track record of high-quality research and publications in social and political aspects of climate change, and demonstrable potential to successfully engage in research grant-capture to pursue an ambitious research agenda. We are keen to add to our expertise in bottom-up, participatory, socially just responses to climate change and to strengthen our interests in climate change with a focus on security, development or gender. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to and innovate SPAIS’s teaching provision in climate change within our Politics and International Relations and/or Sociology programmes and contribute to School governance.
They will join a highly collegial, interdisciplinary School that is committed to promoting diverse approaches to the study of Sociology, Politics and International Relations, including from decolonial, global South and feminist perspectives. The School has strong commitments to, and track record in, co-produced and participatory research, civic engagement and collaborative, interdisciplinary ways of working.
