The Schools and Colleges Engagement (SCE) team, within the Student Recruitment and Marketing Directorate, has institution-wide responsibility for undergraduate recruitment and outreach in the UK and works to build and nurture strong partnerships with schools, colleges and other agencies.
The team’s focus is to recruit students to the University, together with the development and management of outreach and widening participation initiatives on and off campus with targeted Schools and Colleges.
Successful candidates will be working largely in London and as such we would welcome applications from candidates who live locally to the area, or within a practicable traveling distance. The post will also involve some work and travel throughout the UK, so candidates should prepare for occasional time away from home, and flexibility around evening working and some weekends.
Area Lead - London and Surrounding Areas
Our Area Leads are a focused and pro-active hybrid-working team, each responsible for building relationships with schools and colleges within their geographic areas across the country and an exciting opportunity has arisen to join them, covering the London area.
As an Area Lead, you would be responsible for developing an area strategy that confidently seeks out new relationships as well as strengthening existing ones. The role also assists the Head of Service to implement wider recruitment strategies that aim to raise awareness of the benefits of Higher Education and increase student progression to the University of Hull.
Customer focus is key in this role, so in addition to a good understanding of strategy development, we would welcome applications from people with experience of handling stakeholder relationships and managing varying needs, who are able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
In this role you may also be responsible for the workload of others and should demonstrate positivity to change and empathetic leadership skills. Managing the delivery of a school activity programme for your area, you will have substantial experience of working with young people, preferably in a secondary school or college environment, feel confident delivering talks to small or large groups and have experience of project managing, organising and delivering events and activities.
Enthusiastic and dedicated, candidates should demonstrate knowledge of, and passion for, the issues surrounding education and the barriers to progression young people can face, particularly in the areas within London, and commitment to their own development and the development of others.
If this description resonates with you then the University of Hull would welcome your application to join a team that is 100% dedicated to improving the prospects of young people through higher education.
This post requires an enhanced criminal records check through the Disclosure and Barring Service.
