Fourth Monkey is recruiting for a Training & Academic Services Officer to join its dynamic team and be responsible for providing key support and management in evolving internal processes and systems related to the smooth running of the academic team’s work. 

Job Description

Responsible for coordinating and administering the academic services function at Fourth Monkey, the Training & Academic Services Officer will be a key point of contact for students seeking professional guidance and signposting on a range of both academic and personal issues. They will also provide key support and management in evolving the student services and support infrastructure and will be experienced in supporting senior teaching and academic staff through the administration of programme and student informationsues. 

The successful candidate will provide key support and management in evolving internal processes and systems related to the smooth running of the academic team's work, and they will be a primary point of contact for Fourth Monkey's academic partners whilst supporting the Director of Training, Head of Academic Services and their team. 

They will have an awareness of Higher Education learning / arts training environments, plus an understanding of Higher Education procedures, data processing and reporting. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), have excellent attention to detail, an ability to problem solve and multi-task effectively, and a willingness to work collaboratively as part of a small team as well as independently on their own initiative. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Course development, including supporting the Director of Training and Head of Academic Services in development of course procedures and policies, plus administering the approval and validation processes where necessary
  • Student development
  • Practitioner liaison and management
  • Course management / coordination

It's an exciting time to be joining the Fourth Monkey team; since marking our 10-year anniversary in 2020 whereby our two-year training course was successfully accredited as our BA (Hons) Acting Accelerated Degree, we have subsequently added the recently accredited CertHE Acting & Theatre Making and MA Collaborative Theatre to our training provision. We also offer free school and community workshops throughout the UK and a programme of workshops and courses for professional actors and those new to acting to explore a wide range of creative practices, skills and disciplines.

SALARY: £32-35,000 per annum
