Research and Innovation is seeking an enthusiastic individual to provide a proactive and comprehensive School-facing service to support the ambitious growth of the University of Aberdeen’s  internationally-funded research portfolio.  Identifying international funding opportunities, providing expert advice and assistance in the development of research grant funding proposals, post award management and other aspects of bid support with the view of increasing the volume, quality and delivery of proposals. 

Well organised, astute and highly motivated, we are looking for an individual to work both independently on your own initiative, and effectively as part of the Research Development Team and wider R&I. You'll be able to demonstrate an understanding of international funders, with a particular focus on European Commission calls, with experience of inputting into research bids.   Ideally, the candidate will have experience of project management and working in an academic or funding body environment.

Duties will include supporting development of research partners, horizon scanning for international research funding opportunities, ensuring their effective dissemination, working with researchers and partners to develop suitable research applications, providing advice on all aspects of bid development, coordinating the grant application process, ensuring a timely set up of any required contracts and assisting with post award management to ensure compliance with funder’s terms.

You will be educated to degree or postgraduate qualification (or equivalent) as well as have significant and relevant work experience within a university, research funder or industry R&D setting. 

You will have a good knowledge of the main international funders of research, with a track record of understanding funders’ guidelines, summarising technical information, and demonstrating attention to detail.

Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 6,  £36,333 - £43,155  per annum and negotiable with placement according to qualifications and experience.
