You'll join a multi-professional team, developing, consolidating and delivering our innovative occupational therapy programme to ensure our graduates are ready to meet the needs of a changing health care environment. This will involve the preparation, organisation, facilitation of teaching materials/opportunities and the assessment of students predominantly related to virtual practice-based learning experiences, simulation and student-led service learning experiences and groups. Additionally, you with liaise with RGU teaching staff, Practice Educators and other external agencies with a view to extending, diversifying and evaluating practice- based learning.

Whilst we are focussed on educating the next generation of Allied Health Professions, we also appreciate the need to retain skills in the health professions, and therefore this role is ideally suited to anyone who wishes to continue to hold a clinically based role. Alternatively you might be a private practitioner keen to broaden your skillset in teaching and/or supplement your income. If you can bring current, practical experience in the profession to our students, we will aim to consider flexible contract types, such as part time and flexible working to accommodate individual circumstances.

You will be highly motivated with a degree in occupational therapy and appropriate professional registration. Postgraduate qualification to Masters level would be advantageous but is not essential. A background in occupational therapy is required with a broad understanding/experience of different specialities and sectors, beneficial.

Staff in the School of Health Sciences contribute to research in the following priority areas: (i) Professional/clinical practice, (ii) Human Performance, (iii) Education; incorporating research on professional, patient and public education as well as teaching and learning research.

Salary:

Grade 7: £37,386 – £43,155
Grade 8: £44,414 – £52,841
Salary on appointment will be dependent upon experience.

Candidates with limited or no prior experience as an academic will be placed on the first point of the Grade 7 scale. Consideration will be given to offering an Academic Attraction Payment (adjusted annually) for those candidates who have specific industry knowledge, skills or, expertise which are required for the position.
