About the vacancy:
Predominantly aligned to the People Services team you will work across the wider People and OD department as required.
The People Services Assistants are the first point of contact for queries and guidance relating to HR policy and procedures. You will respond to enquiries and issues that may come via a range of sources, support with query resolution and/or signpost customers as required. You will be involved in a range of tasks, such as visa and DBS process management, fixed term contract management and running and manipulating monthly reports for both the team and managers.
About you:
You don’t have to have worked in Higher Education to apply. You will be confident with technology and very familiar with the features of Microsoft Office 365 such as Outlook mail and calendar, Word, Excel and OneNote. We use collaboration tools such as Teams on a daily basis so familiarity with using it in a work setting is important, experience of SharePoint and Yammer would also be useful.
You will understand the importance of confidentiality and will be a constructive, positive communicator who is capable of building rapport and confidence across a wide range of stakeholders.
You will have experience of working in a busy team and working collaboratively towards common goals. Enhancing your own personal learning and development will be important to you as well as supporting the development of those around you.
You will enjoy dealing with queries from a range of sources and having experience of working on a customer facing helpline would be beneficial. Your attention to detail will be second to none, along with being able to demonstrate accurate data entry and a mind set for the continuous improvement of processes.

This is a permanent post and we can be flexible to accommodate between 27 and 37 hours per week, however you would need to be available to work on a Monday.
