The School of Biological and Marine Sciences wish to appoint an experienced Project Manager, to manage two exciting new projects “Angling for Sustainability and Pollack FISP”. Both projects are Fisheries Industry Science Partnerships funded by DEFRA. You will also have an opportunity to get involved with engaging with project partners and fieldwork working on fishing boats and at communication events. The projects aim to tag and track Black Bream, Sharks, Skates and Pollack to inform Fisheries Management Plans.
You will provide project management on behalf of the lead partner, University of Plymouth, as well as having oversight of the project partners. The Project Leader is Dr Emma Sheehan from the University of Plymouth.
The role will involve management of project deliverables; management of the project budget; reporting and compliance with the requirements of the funders. It will also involve close collaboration with project partners, at both academic and administrative/ financial level. You will join a dynamic team of researchers and have opportunities to engage with project research and outreach activities.
The Project Manager will provide day-to-day coordination of the administrative and internal systems and processes of the project, as well as liaising with partners and third parties. The primary focus of the role will be to ensure and facilitate the timely delivery of project activities and outputs through management of project resources: financial, human and technical.

This is a full-time position working 37 hours per week on a fixed-term basis until 31 December 2024 due to funding.
