Job Summary
The Department of Infectious Disease is seeking a Senior Laboratory Manager. You will be responsible to the Department Manager and Head of Department for managing a team of laboratory managers to provide efficient management and support for the research laboratories, specialist facilities and space across the Department estate. This is an exciting opportunity for personal development and presents an excellent opportunity for a lab manager to gain experience in a senior role.
A key focus of the role is health and safety management and implementation. You will work closely with the Faculty Safety Advisors, Section Safety Coordinators and Laboratory Managers to ensure compliance with all College policies and procedures. The role also encompasses oversight of business continuity planning, risk analysis, significant equipment purchase, management of refurbishment projects, and relocation of research groups.
You will be expected to take a leading role in the planning and administration of the department’s space in conjunction with the Department Manager in discussion with the Faculty of Medicine. The role also includes significant relationship management, both with academic staff across the Department as well as Faculty and College-wide departments.

You will form a key part of the Department management team and advise them on all issues related to Health and Safety, and space.

This is a Full Time and Open-ended post based at the St Mary’s campus until Spring 2024 and then move to the South Kensington Campus. Travel to the other Imperial campuses on which the Department is based is essential.
Part-time and flexible working will be considered.
