About the role
We are seeking to appoint to a teaching focused Lectureship in Law. You will contribute to the teaching of appropriate specialist modules at undergraduate and postgraduate level as well as potentially the supervision of research students. You will also be expected also to contribute to the teaching of the core undergraduate modules forming the Foundations of Legal Knowledge. In addition, you will undertake the role of Careers Tutor to support our employability agenda and provide guidance to students seeking a career in legal practice.
As a teaching focused lecturer, you will engage in scholarship and publication that enhances teaching and learning in Law and the pedagogical resources for teaching law. You will be expected to deliver excellent teaching and student support, and to pursue innovation and enhancement in student learning and experience with a view to ensuring outstanding student satisfaction.
You will also carry out administration and other activities that contribute to, and support, the work of the School in developing its strategies, improving its practices and enhancing its reputation, both internal and external to the University.
About you
Qualified to practice as either a solicitor or barrister in England and Wales, you will hold either an undergraduate and postgraduate degree, at least one of which should be in Law. Expertise and / or teaching experience in one or more of the Foundations of Legal Knowledge modules is key. These modules are:
