Applications are invited for a full-time Research Laboratory Technician to join the ACED Clinical Research Team at the Early Cancer Institute (https://www.earlycancer.cam.ac.uk/) on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus. This is an exciting opportunity to be at the cutting edge of new technologies for the early detection of cancer.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and pro-active Research Laboratory Technician to join our ACED Clinical Research team. The successful applicant will play a major role in supporting the team in processing research samples from participants who are joining a bioresource, ACED cohort (https://acedcohort.org/) and will be working to GCLP quality guidelines. Duties will include the collection and processing of samples (primarily blood but also urine and saliva) and ensuring that all documentation and laboratory records are maintained meticulously to comply with HTA regulations. The role also requires logging and transferring samples to storage facilities using electronic databases and participation in regular HTA audits.
A high level of attention to detail and organization is required, as well as relevant experience in laboratory work. Previous experience of using a laboratory information management system (LIMS) or sample-tracking software would be advantageous. Good written and oral communication skills are essential. This role would be suitable for someone with a strong science background.
