The Royal Veterinary College is ranked first in Europe and the world we are ranked top in the NSS and receive consistently high ratings in THE Student Experience Survey and the International Student Barometer. However, we are determined to do more, and do better, to support and facilitate enhancement of learning and teaching, innovative methods of curriculum delivery and student success.
We are looking for two colleagues for key roles in the Educational Development team in the Directorate of Learning and Wellbeing. This is a unique time to join a team that is dedicated to providing expert curricular enhancement and development support to RVC staff and flexible study skills support to our students. New initiatives for the team include our Student Success Coaches, implementing curriculum mapping and the continual development of our successful student induction programme – a skills-based approach to student success.
The Educational Developer (Curriculum) will support academic staff to develop their teaching practice as part of a team providing high-level pedagogic and operational advice and guidance on the design, delivery, and assessment of flexible and inclusive curricula. You will play a key role in using the insights from our curriculum mapping project to support continuous improvement of programmes. We welcome applicants with expertise leading staff development events and activities (such as induction, peer, and curriculum review). This role will work between both our campuses.
The Educational Developer (Study Skills) will be based at our Camden campus and will provide student-centred academic skills development (in various modes) to foster student success and wellbeing for diverse groups of students.
You will have a track record in student learning development and will play a key role in developing events, activities, and materials to ensure students have the skills to thrive in the professionally accredited programmes at the RVC. In particular, we welcome applicants who have expertise in developing materials to support the learning journey of international students encompassing pre-arrival activities, induction support and academic skills development resources.
For both roles, you will be enthusiastic, highly organised and used to working in a fast-paced environment. You will be an effective team member designing and delivering a variety of learning solutions and interventions and using data to evaluate their impact. You will be comfortable working as part of a project-based team and contributing to the realisation RVC’s Blended Learning Strategy.
