About the role:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and capable Information Governance Officer who is ready to join us and to grow as part of a well-established, successful and dynamic team.
You’ll be a key member of our Information Assurance and Compliance Team able to serve staff and students at Brookes through managing simple to complex issues.
You will ensure that the University complies with Data Protection Act (DPA, 2018), UK-GDPR (2018), The Freedom of Information Act (FOI, 2000) and The Environmental Freedom of Information Regulations (EIR,2004).
In addition, knowledge of ISO standards: specifically ISO 27001 (information security management, 2013) and ISO 27701 (Privacy information management, 2019), ISO 19011 (auditor standard, 2018) and payment industry standard (PCI-DSS, 2018) would also be of benefit to applicants.
You will be providing advice and guidance at all levels of the University on matters related to Data Protection and Information Security.

You will have the ability to understand complex legislation or regulatory frameworks.
You are able to promote an efficient response to Freedom of Information issues though the devolution of procedures to individual Directorates and Faculties.
