Our people have always been at the forefront of innovation, and our past achievements inspire our current world changers.
Through our new Innovation Strategy, we are strengthening our capability to engage with business, industry, public bodies and governments and an exciting opportunity has arisen for an Academic Consultancy Manager to join us and be part of shaping a new professional service for the University.
Working within the University’s newly established Academic Consultancy Services team and reporting to the Head of Academic Consultancy Services, you will be responsible for implementing a professional service to academics across the organisation which efficiently facilitates, manages and grows academic consultancy activities in contribution to the delivery of the University’s strategic ambition for Innovation and Knowledge Exchange and enhancement of the University’s external profile for innovation and impact.
We are looking for a talented, agile and motivated individual who can build trusting relationships with the full diversity of academic staff across research disciplines and all levels of seniority to identify new consultancy opportunities, drive business growth and develop School based strategies to promote and expand consultancy activity in line with local priorities.
You will possess authoritative knowledge of research and innovation-related data and information and its relevance to statutory reporting requirements such as HESA, UIF and broader University reputational profile and have experience in producing data-driven business intelligence reports.
With authoritative knowledge of the academic research and innovation environment, you will have the ability to think and act strategically and develop and employ innovative solutions to achieve consultancy targets.
