The University of Nottingham’s founding pioneering spirit and ambitious vision still resonates and drives our University today, as we strive to deliver an exceptional research-led education to our 46,000 students, and to transform lives and societies around the globe through our world-leading research.
We are looking for a Senior Executive Officer with a passion for our higher education mission and commitment to our values. You will work with our Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Registrar acting on their behalf in many instances and assuming necessary responsibility. Your activity will amplify the impact, performance and success of both the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Registrar’s portfolios.
This is a committed role and in which you’ll serve as a versatile generalist, navigating a large and complex organisation. Success in the role will require strategic thinking, adaptability, great communication skills and organisational acumen.
The role is high profile, integral to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Registrar’s portfolios and with exposure to senior leaders and colleagues across the organisation. It is likely to suit someone with the following attributes and skills:
As well as provide answers to the criteria based application, candidates are also required to submit a CV as part of their application. Your application will not be considered without a CV.
What if you don’t meet every single requirement of the person specification? We would encourage you to apply anyway. Whilst it is likely that the successful candidate does have experience in a number of the required areas, your aptitude, motivation and delivery focus are just as important as your current skill set. We know that a diverse, inclusive, and authentic workplace is not only a better place to work but also produces higher quality solutions and delivers better service. We also know that some groups of people are less likely to apply for a role unless they meet 100% of the person specification. Whoever you are, if this job interests you, we encourage you to apply.
The post is offered on a permanent, full time (36.25 hours per week) contract.
Informal enquiries may be addressed to Jason Carter at jason.carter@nottingham.ac.uk. Please note that applications sent directly to this email address will not be accepted.
