The University has ambitious plans for the future, integral to which is the objective of making the University a healthy and safe place to work, study and visit. The Health and Safety Service is vital to achieving this aim across the University, by challenging the University to ensure it is not only complying with legislative standards, but striving to be leading and achieving best practice.

The service offers a range of Health and Safety services across all of the University’s Faculties, Schools, Departments and Directorates; this provides a diverse range of industry groups and activities for a health and safety professional to work in.

Following promotions we have two vacancies for Health and Safety Advisor roles with the team.

The Health and Safety Advisors role involves overseeing risk assessments; Health and Safety training; Off-site working; employee consultation; assisting policy development, audit/ Inspection and Investigation service.  

The positions report into the University’s Lead Health & Safety Advisors and also the Head of Health & Safety Services. 

To be successful in these roles you will have a combination of practical and theoretical experience in Health and Safety either working as an advisor or through operational exposure. You will be a team player and a good communicator with the ability to motivate, develop and encourage the commitment of others in order to secure performance. You will also be keen to learn and develop within the role.
