We are looking to hire an experienced product owner or product manager to join the Web Applications Development Team at the University of Aberdeen. The successful candidate will lead the Student Hub Development sub-team and will be responsible for delivering the strategy and roadmap for the university’s Student Hub application.

The Student Hub is a web-based application used by students to manage many aspects of their studies at the University of Aberdeen.

You should be educated to degree level (or equivalent qualification) or have equivalent relevant experience. An ILM Level 3 qualification or higher is beneficial.

You will have experience working as a product owner or product manager as part of a multi-disciplined team working in an Agile environment to develop a portal-style or large web-based system.

You should have experience engaging with key user groups, through workshops and focus groups, to understand requirements and direct product developments.

You should have a comprehensive understanding of project management approaches (Agile Scrum and PRINCE2) and the Software Development Lifecycle.

You should have an understanding of best practices regarding security, accessibility, and usability in a software development context. In addition, you should have experience applying User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) principles in a web application context.

You should possess excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interact confidently with a broad range of both technical and non-technical users. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are a requirement, alongside strong time management and organisational skills.

Salary will be at the appropriate point on Grade 7, £45,585 - £54,395 per annum, with placement according to qualifications and experience.
