We are looking to appoint a Head of Partnership Development to lead the Partnership strand (currently 12 members of staff) in the newly formed Research and Partnerships team, supporting academics across all three Faculties. The role is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal and strategic part in delivering the University’s research and impact ambitions through providing leadership and managerial oversight of a diverse range of bid and partnership development activities. You will work with senior academic and PS leaders to help grow research income, impact, collaboration and co-creation with non-HEI external partners.
You will have an excellent track record of generating impact and income from research, a strong understanding of knowledge exchange and partnership development experience of leading strategic funding initiatives (e.g. UKRI centres and hubs), through to developing of major partnerships (including an excellent understanding of IP and research contracts). You will also have good knowledge of the funding landscape, including an understanding of partner and funder requirements, and current drivers such as grand challenges, levelling up, responsible innovation, open research and increasing equality, diversity and inclusion in the sector.
You will have experience in creating, consulting on and operationalising strategy and a track record of management and leadership.
This is a full-time or part time role (0.8FTE) and flexible working will be considered.
