Are you interested in joining a new team dedicated to evaluating strategic university initiatives aimed at addressing inequalities in access to higher education, student success, and progression to graduate jobs and postgraduate study?
We are looking for a highly motivated, professional and knowledgeable Research and Evaluation Officer to join the newly-established Evaluation and Impact Team to support our goal of building evaluation capacity and embedding high-quality, robust evaluation among individuals and teams delivering widening access and success initiatives across Oxford Brookes University. The successful candidate will also play a vital role in supporting development and delivery of evaluation plans for a range of strategic University initiatives, including those committed to within our institutional Access and Participation Plan (APP).
The successful candidate will support the Head of Impact Evaluation and Insight in developing and delivering evaluation plans as well as contributing to the dissemination of findings both internally across the institution and more broadly across the sector. As Research and Evaluation Officer you will contribute to the development of our institutional research and expertise in terms of ‘what works’ in relation to Oxford Brookes’ Access, Success and Progression initiatives, and will more generally support the development of colleagues in relation to approaches to evaluation across the University. The successful candidate will contribute to existing networks across the sector, sharing the knowledge gained internally to inform our own practice and future strategic interventions.
This is a vital and dynamic role which will require the successful applicant to work closely with a wide range of colleagues and stakeholders in divisions and departments, as well as prospective and current students. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills and demonstrate a commitment to evidence-based practice, as well as possessing a strong understanding of data analysis methodologies. They will also have experience of leading on the design and delivery of evaluation and/or research projects and a high standard of written communication.
