About the Role
Black Health Legacy is a long-term research study that aims to improve the health of Black African and Black Caribbean people. The study is funded by the Wellcome Trust and will prioritise research on medical problems that affect people from these communities, such as type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and kidney disease.
We are recruiting an enthusiastic Research Facilitator to join our team working on this exciting new project. The Research Facilitator will become a key member of the Black Health Legacy team and will be responsible for recruiting participants across various settings. You will assist the Senior Research Facilitator in ensuring that it is conducted with high standards and in compliance with the protocol, overall study objectives and research governance.
About You
A highly motivated and passionate individual who is committed to improving the health of Black African and Black Caribbean people through research. You will be enthusiastic about community engagement of people from underrepresented groups. You will have experience of dealing with patients/public in person, by email and on the phone, be organised and self-motivated, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Prior research experience and a Good Clinical Practice certification is desirable but not essential. We would welcome individuals who are keen to develop their career in NHS and/or community-based research.
About the Institute
The Wolfson Institute of Population Health (WIPH) is an exciting and dynamic environment, home to around 450 staff, 100 PhD students and 500 postgraduate taught students. It harnesses expertise across a wide range of population-based research and education activities and aims to be an internationally recognised centre of excellence in population health, primary care and preventive medicine. The Institute is organised into six separate research centres which, though complementary and following the Institute strategic plan, also have Centre-specific objectives and requirements.
