Job Summary
Applications are invited for a position of Centre Manager for the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Modern Statistics and Statistical Machine Learning (StatML) in the Department of Mathematics, Imperial College London.
The EPSRC CDT in Modern Statistics and Statistical Machine Learning (StatML) is a highly successful doctoral training centre led by Imperial with Oxford as an equal partner. It aims to train the next generation of leaders at the intersection of statistics and computer science, powering the artificial intelligence (AI) revolution. Students undertake fundamental research to develop novel theory and methods and work with industrial and academic partners to apply their research to make real-world breakthroughs in pressing problems in government, medicine, industry and science.
The centre has just taken its fifth cohort of students with a total of approximately 70 students at various stages of their training. Further information can be found on the centre’s website: https://statml.io. The CDT is currently seeking renewal of its funding which, if successful, would see a further 5 cohorts admitted from 2024-2028 and offer a potential extension to the position.
Duties and responsibilities
You will have responsibility for the day-to-day running of the Centre, including monitoring the budget/accounts; administering student records and processes from recruitment to graduation; scheduling student training programmes; providing support to students; event management and facilitating interaction amongst and between students, academic staff and industry partners. You will be a key point of contact for the CDT and will contribute to promotional activities and raising the centre’s profile. You will work in partnership with the Centre Manager based at the University of Oxford.
