We are seeking to appoint a Senior Outputs Development Manager as a new role that has been created to lead development of a framework, culture, and set of resources to support and inform best practice in producing the highest quality outputs from each body of research at the University of Liverpool.
The post provides an exciting opportunity to play a unique part in delivering the University’s research and impact ambitions as outlined in our new Liverpool 2031 strategy. In particular, the role will help create a framework to ensure that we communicate our research to the widest audience, helping career development of individual researchers as well as increasing our international reputation to help us with our ambition to be a global top 100 University by 2031. You will be leading on creating resources and training in: writing academic outputs; developing publication strategies; maximizing the impact of an outputs post-publication; and developing a network across the University to support this activity.
You will have an excellent understanding of academic publishing and either have, or be willing to develop, an understanding of supporting the full range of REF output categories. You will also be an excellent facilitator with experience of engaging a range of audiences, and supporting organizational transformation.
You will have a degree (or equivalent qualification or relevant professional experience) and be able to work on your own initiative, as well as the ability to create a positive working culture that motivates and supports colleagues. The post will line-manage the new post of Outputs Development Manager.
You will report to the Head of Strategic Research Initiatives, and will sit within the Research and Partnerships team within the Research, Partnerships and Innovation Directorate. This collaborative central team (currently 40 members of staff) helps to deliver institutional research and impact priorities across all three faculties.
The post is an 18-month fixed-term contract, based in the Liverpool campus with some hybrid working possible.
