About the Role
Applicants are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Assistant position in machine learning for wireless networks in the School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science. The role will be part of an EPSRC-funded project on Scalable Hybrid Architecture for Wireless Collaborative Federated Learning (SHAFT). This is a joint project among Queen Mary University of London, the University of Manchester and with industrial partners, such as BT and Toshiba.
Candidates should have successfully completed a PhD (or equivalent) in Computer Science and Engineering including Electronic Engineering or similar. It is desirable for candidates to have good understanding of conducting research on 5G and Beyond 5G. Candidates should have experience in writing academic papers in topics related to the area of research on this project.

The post is based at the Mile End Campus in London. The position is full-time (35 hours per week) and fixed term for 30 months (or until 31 March 2026 whichever is sooner). The successful candidate must be able to start no later than 1 February 2024. The starting salary will be Grade 4, in the range of £40,223- £44,722 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
