About Us

University of Southampton has been awarded funding to develop and host a Public Health National Specialist Centre (PHNSC). The PHNSC will provide research advice nationally for PH research projects seeking funding within specific areas and including development of award applications, advice on setting up studies, collaboration opportunities and support for PPIE and a PH Enabling Research Service’ (PHERcS), producing guidance, toolkits, governance and ethics  and PH research delivery in non-NHS settings to equip local authorities to host/sponsor their own research and understand the responsibilities and risks. Regionally, the service will also be available for researchers for training, events and support to increase capability in PH research and for local authority partners creating learning partnerships to understand and respond to PH research needs and increase PH research capacity.

About the Role

The Process Manager will support this initial set up stage of the PHNSC to lead on the design and management of the research process and to provide professional research support and specialist advice to researchers on research processes and funding matters. 

You will have significant knowledge and experience of designing and implementing process for new project initiatives, ideally in the public health sector. You will also be an excellent communicator and able to build relationships both internally and externally.

This post is offered on a full time fixed term (24 months) basis in the School of Healthcare Enterprise & Innovation. As a school we operate hybrid working with an expected minimum of 20% in office. 

This role will also be considered on a secondment basis for UoS employees.
