Applications are invited for a Research Associate/Fellow to join our team at the Nanoscale and Microscale Research Centre (nmRC) at the University of Nottingham. For the successful candidate this will provide an exciting opportunity to contribute to Tip-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (TERS) research across the University utilising a new nanoscale imaging facility housed at the nmRC funded via the EPSRC (EP/V053884/1).

We are looking for a highly motivated person to develop this research area and support its application to the broad range of research challenges under investigation at the University of Nottingham. The role will be based at the nmRC, a world-leading analytical facility, which offers state-of-the-art instrumentation and expertise in nano- and microscale characterisation, including specialised sample preparation and fabrication facilities, for the benefit of all University of Nottingham researchers, external academic collaborators, and industrial partners. The successful candidate will have:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with clarity on complex information.
  • A PhD awarded (or near to completion) in an area related to the engineering, physical or life sciences.
  • The ability to build relationships and collaborate with others, both internally and externally.

This post is available immediately and offered on fixed term contract of 24 months. Hours of work are full time (36.25 hours per week).
