About the Role
We are seeking a Library Buildings Development Manager to join our Library Innovation and Planning Team.
The post holder will spend most their time working closely with the Frontline Services (Environment) team within Library Services, and the Space Management and Projects teams within Estates and Facilities, along with external contractors and stakeholders. They will identify areas for development and make steps to secure funding and agreement to initiate projects.
The team is responsible for supporting the cross-service working groups and Library teams with the prioritisation, planning, financial management, workforce management and operational implementation of a diverse range of projects and service improvements related to the digital and physical infrastructures supporting Library Services.
You will have experience of working with a range of stakeholders and contributing to the planning, management, and delivery of physical improvement projects. You will have experience of advocating for improvements by the preparation of robust business cases, identifying where users’ needs are not met, and identifying deliverable solutions.
You will possess a degree or be able to demonstrate equivalent level of experience, alongside a recognized qualification in project management, or substantial professional experience of managing projects.

Library Services is a major part of the Student Experience Directorate, with libraries and study spaces located at three of Queen Mary’s campuses, responsibility for the university archives, and with a strong online presence.
