The Institute of Applied Social Research (IASR), University of Bedfordshire is seeking to appoint a full time Research and Finance Administrator to join the team. They successful candidate will support the delivery of large portfolio of national and international research projects on child and family welfare, child sexual exploitation, trafficking, forced migration, youth crime and victimisation, adult safeguarding and substance misuse and ageing.
The Research and Finance administrator will be responsible for contributing to the day-to-day business operations of the Institute of Applied Social Research. They will work with the Director and Project managers to oversee the Institute’s research portfolio and budgets. They will also act as a key coordination point for multi-partner projects and activities such as in-house events, partnership board meetings and practice development activities.
We are looking for an exceptionally organised and driven candidate to provide general administrative support to researchers in the Institute. Applicants should have good knowledge and experience of administrative functions, including use of IT platforms including MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Access. Excellent organisational and communications skills, and the ability to take the initiative and prioritise tasks are essential. Experience of working in a busy research environment, preferably in Higher Education is desirable.
The successful candidate will be able to work with a high degree of autonomy and will need to be self-directed. In return, you will be receive regular supervision by an experienced line manager and access to university-facilitated training.
