The Department of Research and Innovation Services is seeking to appoint an Impact Projects Manager, on a fixed-term basis until March 2025.

The post holder will be required to manage a team of impact officers working across the schools within the University’s three Colleges (Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, Biomedical and Life Sciences, and Physical Sciences and Engineering), and in our University Innovation Institutes, Sbarc, and Translation Research Hub, to support the development of impact and engagement projects across the University’s diverse research portfolio, including the development of impact case studies for the 2028 Research Excellence Framework (REF).
The post holder will work closely with the Pro-Vice Chancellor Research, Innovation and Enterprise, the Research Excellence Programme Manager in Strategic Planning, College Research Managers, College Deans of Research and Innovation, and School Impact and Knowledge Exchange Leads. This role will involve leading a team of impact officers to support academic staff with the maximising the impact of their research, and gathering evidence to corroborate impact claims and as such promote the public value of research The post holder will be responsible for oversight of impact development across the University.

The post holder will be required to demonstrate strong management, communication and networking skills, demonstrate proactive initiative and excellent project management abilities.

This post is full time and fixed term until 31st March 2025.

The post is  eligible to be offered on a blended working basis, meaning that as well as spending time working on campus you can also choose to spend some time working from another location, e.g. your home.
