Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Sociology to join the Contextual Safeguarding research programme. We are looking for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to support on a research project developing support for Scottish schools to address extra-familial forms of harm and violence. The project will be led by Dr Jenny Lloyd but we are seeking someone who can independently undertake all elements of the research. This project will have multiple opportunities to publish and inform national policy. In addition to this project the successful candidate will be required to support on additional research projects in the Contextual safeguarding team.

The successful applicant will be expected to independently develop research methods including engagement with students, interviews and focus groups, case review and in-person delivery of some activities. The successful candidate will need to be able to travel to Scotland on a minimum of four occasions. The successful candidate will be supervised and supported by colleagues in the Contextual Safeguarding team and will have opportunities to publish and develop their own research ideas. The position is fixed-term.
