We are now looking for a Catering and Conferencing Chef Supervisor to join our team on a full time, permanent basis, working 37 hours per week.

THE ROLE

You will be expected to deliver a professional service to the University Catering at large, including hospitality, functions, events, and conferencing to the highest of standards.

ABOUT YOU

To be considered as a Catering and Conferencing Chef Supervisor, you will need:

  • Good level of general education including written and numeracy skills
  • Food Hygiene Level 2
  • NVQ 1, 2 and 3 or similar in a related discipline
  • Previous experience of working in busy catering environment
  • Experience of supervising staff
  • Experience of dealing with demanding customers and handling customer complaints
  • Experience of planning day-to-day delivery of service and to take ownership and control of a situation and area and the ability to maintain tight deadlines
  • Experience of setting and maintaining high food standards and delivery. Apply attention to detail in the food offer and service delivery
  • Experience in daily financial requirements and systems
  • Demonstrate effective organisational skills and multi-tasking
  • Ability to work effectively as an individual including being unsupervised, as part of a team and in partnership with others
  • Recognises the need for and demonstrates appropriate confidentiality
  • Adopts a positive approach to personal learning and development
  • Ability and preparedness to work flexibly in terms of duties, shift patterns, campus locations and to respond to business needs at short notice
  • Experience in maintaining risk assessments

It would be beneficial if you also have:

  • Food Hygiene level 3
  • Good I.T. skills.
  • Experience of supervising staff.
  • Knowledge of EPOS till systems
  • Ability to communicate through the medium of Welsh (oral and written).
