About the role:

We are currently looking for a Laboratory Support Technician to join the Portfolio & Laboratory Management team (PALM) Team within the National Biomarker Centre (NBC). You will work closely with other NBC staff to manage the efficient running of NBC’s research laboratories, and work with our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), specifically entering and checking data. As you will be performing day-to-day laboratory tasks this is a key laboratory support role with an opportunity to gain experience with, and make an important contribution to, the activities of a cutting-edge cancer research team.

About you:

You will be flexible with good communications skills and be willing to learn new skills.  Additionally, you will have experience of working as part of a team, be familiar with MS office packages and will be able to carry out a range of routine tasks and procedures to specified protocols. It is essential that you can organise your own tasks on a day-to-day basis to meet fluctuating business requirements. Experience working in a laboratory setting and keen interest in cancer research would be advantageous.
