Job summary
The post holder will play a key role in the delivery of the Royal School of Mines (RSM)workshop service, providing support for research and teaching activities in the department. You will be part of an experienced team, designing, and manufacturing complex precision components and contributing to the assembly, installation and commissioning of specialist equipment. You will work on a range of projects supporting the research groups and teaching laboratories in the department of Materials.
Duties and responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
To undertake projects to deadline, providing expert advice on the design, construction and manufacture of complex components from a variety of materials to a high standard using a combination of manual and CNC machines, to a high level of accuracy and quality. Assist and deputise for the workshop manager as necessary.
