This post is part of a team at the University to lead on supporting our people to have the resources, skills and knowledge to develop and excel in an increasingly digital world. This post has arisen due to an internal promotion.
Main duties and responsibilities
The Senior Digital Skills Developer will lead the implementation of digital capability initiatives across academic schools and/or professional SBUs. You will work closely with the Deputy Head of Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) and Digital Capability to ensure initiatives are strategically aligned, relevant and appropriate across a range of abilities, and of the highest quality. You will have responsibility for leading on the design and delivery, and for the accurate collection of feedback and data used to measure impact and inform future planning and decision making.
In collaboration with the Deputy Head of (TEL) and Digital Capability, you will lead on the implementation of the Digital Capabilities Strategy initiatives including design and delivery of training sessions (in person and online) for staff and students.
Skills and experience required
As a successful candidate you will hold substantial proven experience in leading digital skills development initiatives, from consultation through to implementation and evaluation, in a large or medium sized organisation. Alongside this, you will hold substantial proven experience in a wide range of educational technologies such as a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), and significant proven experience in leading the design and delivery of training sessions (in person and online) across one or more areas of digital skills development including delivering to small and large audiences with varying levels of knowledge, skill and ability is also essential to this role.
The ability to collect and analyse large quantities of qualitive and quantitative data, and to identify trends, come to conclusions and form recommendations, as well as holding a strong knowledge and understanding of relevant laws and regulations within the sector, as both essential to this role.
The successful post holder will also have excellent spoken and written English skills, possess the ability to adhere to tight deadlines and to work effectively both independently and within a team setting.
Qualifications required
Minimum of post-graduate qualification in a relevant subject (Education, Training, Educational Technology, Digital Technology, Multimedia, Information Technology) or substantial proven experience of doing a similar job.
