Do you want to be involved with a next-generation skills, training, research, and innovation programme?

Are you passionate about equipping companies with the right frontier technology tools and skills to advance their business into the future?

About us

The FWD Project is an exciting collaboration between B&NES Council, Bath College, Bath Spa University, and the University of Bath. Based at the University of Bath’s Innovation Centre, the Makespace Lab, is an important part of the project.

At its heart, you will seek to bridge the gap between ideation creation and innovation. Gaps in knowledge and limited access to technology resources, create a barrier to an entrepreneur’s ability to explore, test, prototype and implement new technological processes or resources with no risk. You will serve as that vital bridge by providing those resources, complemented by a programme of activity.

The West of England Combined Authority funds the project which focuses on developing innovation, knowledge and skills in the healthy living, digital & creative, and the Net Zero & sustainability sectors, reflecting the biggest regional challenges to recovery and growth.

About you

You are a key individual to the success of the Makespace Lab, making a significant contribution to the companies in their discovery, experimentation and application to their business of new and emerging technologies including: 3D printing; prototyping; Immersive technologies; AI etc.

You will achieve this by seeking to understand the Business Leaders' business support requirements, mapping this into the resources available via the Innovation Centre, and Research base of the university ensuring the appropriate linkages are made available including connecting them to the resources of the SETsquared Partnership of which the University of Bath is a founding member. Drawing on your own experience of running a business/es or a proven track record of supporting businesses, is vital to this role.
