Background

We have an exciting opportunity for a Programme Administration Manager to join our diverse and vibrant Education support teams supporting students and staff across the University. We are passionate about providing service excellence and the role will offer you the scope to contribute by proactively leading a team and identifying ways of enhancing the student experience, providing guidance and advice and supporting the successful delivery of academic programmes.

You will be part of the Education Services and Support team within the College of Medical and Dental Sciences which consists of over 100 Professional Services staff who work together to support and enable the delivery of education across Undergraduate and Postgraduate Programmes.

You will work in collaboration with senior professional services and senior academic staff to provide advice and influence change to ensure successful delivery of the undergraduate Dental programme. You will be responsible for staff management and be accountable for the leadership of the Professional Services Team supporting delivery of the programme.

Main Duties

The main duties of the post are to have a detailed understanding of the University regulations and codes of practice. Working as part of the wider management team you will provide a high-quality administrative service, communicate effectively across all levels of the University and with external partners specifically the NHS and be flexible in your approach. You will be responsible for ensuring key tasks are completed in line with key performance targets and for developing a thorough working knowledge of processes and procedures to ensure a consistent and effective service delivery.

Person Specification

This is an exciting role which will enable the successful applicant to develop and shape the professional services support for the undergraduate Dental programme in line with the University’s strategy of delivering an excellent student experience. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to think creatively and collate and disseminate information is also vital.  The successful applicant will have wide ranging communication skills sufficient to generate and foster excellent working relationships in order to effectively manage and support change and be confident in dealing with people at all levels.
