About the Role
This role will provide critical administrative support for the activities of a newly formed cross-Faculty Centre for Epigenetics. The post holder will provide administrative, budgetary and secretarial support to the Centre for Epigenetics Leads and other assigned members of staff in their execution of Centre-related tasks. They will support the planning, coordination and organisation of the centre’s activities, including administering HR and Finance processes, providing support for research-related activity, and maintaining a supportive environment for staff and students.
About You
The post-holder will have experience working in an administrative role, strong communication skills, and excellent organisational and record-keeping skills. Experience of servicing committees, including producing agendas and minutes, is essential. The post-holder will be able to prioritise a varied workload and plan ahead to meet deadlines with minimal supervision, taking a proactive approach to their work. Having knowledge of HR and financial processing systems will be an advantage but is not essential.
About the Institute
The Blizard Institute was established in 2003 and is one of six Institutes within the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, QMUL. The Institute comprises approximately 360 staff based in four academic Centres and one Public Engagement Centre, and supports a combined total of c700 postgraduate research and taught students. The Institute aims to deliver excellence in all aspects of research, teaching and clinical service.

The post is based at the Whitechapel Campus in London. It is a part-time (17.5 hours per week), fixed-term post for 5 years. The starting salary will be Grade 3, in the range of £31,421 – £38,165 per annum (pro-rata), inclusive of London Allowance.
