SP Jain London School of Management (SPJL) is a new OfS-registered Business school, which started operations in October 2023. Our state-of-the-art campus is located in Canary Wharf, London.
We’re a flexible, progressive, open-minded, and inclusive employer with driven, clever and curious people from around the world. SPJL is now looking to recruit a Student Experience Coordinator.
Student Experience Coordinator:
SPJL is seeking an enthusiastic, proactive, well-organised, good communicator as our Student Experience Coordinator to support and enhance the student experience at SPJL. This is an exciting opportunity to join us as you will be able to contribute to the development of the new school and have a direct input into shaping processes and procedures.
Collaborating with the Director of Student Experience, you will take responsibility for advising and guiding students from pre-arrival, through to graduation. This very diverse role requires initiative and a proactive style. An empathetic approach is required for dealing with individual student concerns. Team working skills are essential: the flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances, cooperation with colleagues, and the ability to pre-emptively share information. You will need to be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, diplomacy, & cross-cultural sensitivity. Organising and leading events is a key part of the role, and occasional out-of-hours work may be required.
Responsibilities:
You will provide everyday point of contact support to students and respond to their enquiries in a timely manner and in accordance with agreed standards. You will provide high-quality information, advice and guidance to students on a wide range of issues, including their referral to your line manager. You will be empathetic, patient and diplomatic as you will be required to spend time discussing issues.
You will design, promote and deliver a vibrant, imaginative and well-run programme of cultural activities and social events as part of students’ Global Learning programme.
Profile requirements
You will have a good understanding of contemporary practice in supporting students, information, advice, and guidance and, ideally, experience of working in UK Higher Education. You will need to be proactive, enthusiastic and well-organised with excellent communication skills, alongside MS Office skills, and the ability to work with and adapt to IT systems.
You will be self-reliant with a flexible ‘can-do’ approach in order to undertake the work required for a start-up Higher Education institution. You will be committed to continuous improvement and delivering an excellent student experience.
