About this role
UWE is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic film studies lecturer to join our dedicated Film Studies team. Delivering a wide range of module teaching into modules across the undergraduate learning journey, the candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to and shape a successful programme staffed by an experienced team of film theorists and researchers.

About you
You have a passion for film and film culture. As a great communicator, you are able to inspire and support students across their learning journey. Highly organised and able to work to tight deadlines with accuracy and rigour, you will be an integral part of a highly motivated team. With relevant teaching and assessment experience across the cultural fields of film theory, production, distribution, and consumption, you can equip students to become adept researchers and critical thinkers.
You are able to contribute to the smooth delivery of high-quality teaching and learning during timetabled lectures, seminars, and workshops, as well as pastoral care and guidance to undergraduate students. You have a deep enthusiasm for quality pedagogy and student welfare, and willingly contribute to the development of the teaching and learning offer. With a close eye on KPIs and programme goals, you will work with others to develop all areas of the student experience. You will have a relevant research profile which will inform your teaching and contribute to the research interests of the Film Studies staff and associated centers and groups.

This is a 12 month fixed-term post until September 2025 and is part-time working on a 0.5 FTE contract. This post is available on a job share basis for applicants wishing to work part time
