About the Role
As a Senior Lead in the UK Student Recruitment and Widening Participation team, you will shape and implement strategies to attract a diverse student body. Reporting within the External Relations Directorate, you will focus on achieving key student recruitment objectives, developing and delivering a sector-leading Access curriculum, and ensuring compliance with Office for Students (OfS) regulations, including leading the team’s Safeguarding policy.
In this role, you will manage daily team operations, introduce and refine initiatives, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, you will oversee the evaluation of access programmes to ensure they meet regulatory standards and assess their impact.
About You
We are looking for a strategic leader dedicated to inclusivity and social mobility. Your background should include substantial experience in student recruitment and widening participation. You will have a history of successfully managing and motivating teams, with the ability to develop and implement strategies that align with both institutional goals and regulatory requirements. Building strong partnerships with colleagues, schools, charities, and regulatory bodies should come naturally to you.
Your understanding of OfS regulations and safeguarding policies will be crucial, as will your skills in monitoring and evaluating programmes. Excellent communication abilities, both verbal and written, are essential. You should be proactive, collaborative, and ready to engage in cross-functional projects while supporting major University events. If you are passionate about fostering an inclusive educational environment, we would warmly welcome an application from you.
About the Department
The role is situated within the External Relations Directorate which is responsible for the marketing of the profile of Queen Mary University of London and its educational programmes, and the attraction and recruitment of students from under-represented backgrounds as well as students from the UK, EU and Overseas more generally.
