The role
The Research Development (RD) team are looking to recruit a Research Development Officer. This role is a maternity cover and as such, is for 9 months.
The RD team works across disciplines, engaging with academic staff and colleagues within the Division of Research, Enterprise and Innovation (DREI) to develop the University’s world class research and enterprise base (top 5 UK University for research, REF2021). The team supports a wide variety of research funding applications including fellowships, large/strategic (Programme) bids, equipment and doctoral student related bids, across all academic career stages and to a large variety of research funders, for example UKRI, NIHR, the Royal Society and Wellcome Trust. The team also works closely with other Professional Services colleagues across the University and manages the University’s strategic relationships with key funders.
The Research Development Officer will work with the academic community to identify opportunities for external research funding, support and provide advice / feedback for the preparation and submission of research funding applications, contribute to grant writing training and support the running of the RD Team.

In this role you will work alongside Research Development Managers and Research Development Associates, based within the team, on a range of activities supporting the academic community in applying for external funding opportunities.
