About the Role
We are recruiting an Admissions Enquiries Assistant to join our central Admissions team, which handles taught and research programme applications to all the university’s Schools and Institutes. The post-holder will support the work of the Undergraduate and/or Postgraduate Admissions teams by responding to enquiries from prospective applicants and applicants. This involves responding to enquiries received via multiple channels including e-mail, telephone, live chat and direct messages in the applicant portal. The post-holder will provide advice about various aspects of the admissions process, including entry requirements, key dates and deadlines, submission of qualification documents and preparing for enrolment. They will also carry out routine processing of change requests, such as deferral requests. Admissions Enquiries Assistants will also support the Undergraduate Admissions team during the peak Confirmation and Clearing period in the summer months, by assisting with the handling of enquiries and applications. All Admissions team members are expected to work flexibly and may be assigned to work across team boundaries at peak times.
About You
The ideal candidate will have experience of working in an administrative role supporting the admission of students, ideally in a central admissions team in higher education.
You will be self-motivated and flexible individual with a customer-focused mindset. You will be equally capable of working independently and as a member of team, with good organisational skills, you will be able to prioritise, and capable of working under pressure while maintaining accuracy. You will be IT literate, with experience of using complex databases in an academic context, and have excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills. You will be capable of carrying out tasks and making decisions consistently within a clear policy and regulatory framework, referring to managers only in complex cases.
