About the Role
The Department of Linguistics, within the School of Languages, Linguistics and Film is looking to expand by appointing a Lecturer in Russian.
Duties under Teaching and Scholarship
Duties will include convening and teaching undergraduate modules, contributing to MA provision as appropriate, (co)-supervising PhD students, and undertaking administrative roles as required within the Department. You will be expected to teach on the following or closely related modules: (from January 2025 Contemporary Post-Soviet Documentary; Russian Language Play; Culture and Language and other activities by agreement with the Head of Department. From September 2025, by agreement with Head of Department)
About You
You will hold a PhD in Russian or have an equivalent professional qualification, together with the ability to deliver teaching and assessment at undergraduate and postgraduate level. The ability to work constructively and flexibly with colleagues, good organisational and communicative skills are also essential.

The post is full-time and fixed-term appointment for 12 months, with an expected start date of 1 January 2025 until 31 December 2025. The starting salary will be Grade 5, £49,785 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
