Are you looking for a management role which underpins world-leading teaching and an exceptional student experience, and gives you the chance to contribute to the development of an empowered and collaborative professional services team?   

Based in the School of Law, you will be working to cover maternity leave for our current Operations Manager (ESE). You'll be part of the School’s senior operational team and have responsibility for day-to-day management, delivery and continuous improvement of professional services support for Education and Student Experience (ESE).

Specifically, you will: 

  • Manage a team of professional services staff delivering high quality support for ESE; 
  • Support the development, implementation and monitoring of the School’s ESE-related strategy, plans and budgets; 
  • Oversee a programme of activity that underpins the student lifecycle from induction through to graduation; 
  • Manage the School’s support for ESE-related governance; 
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of operational systems and processes in the School and across the Faculty; and, 
  • Actively engage with the Faculty’s professional services networks and communities of practice. 

Working closely with academic staff, you will contribute to ambitious plans to enhance the support we provide for world-leading teaching and an outstanding student experience. This is a fast-paced role, with an often rapidly-changing set of priorities and calls on your time.  You will need excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage operational teams and processes and thrive in a fast-paced and varied environment.  As someone who builds collaborative relationships and motivates others, you will help drive forward change and deliver service excellence.

The post is offered on a fixed term contract for 1 year.  Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours per week); however, applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 29 hours per week).
