Library and Student Services is responsible for providing a wide and diverse range of services to all our students including Student Welfare, Careers & Employability and Library Services.
The Student Welfare team focuses on providing an array of excellent student wellbeing initiatives and support for our students during their time at university including HealthyDMU our university wide approach to wellbeing. DMU is at the forefront in recognising and delivering an environment that provides students with resources that support their development and studies, which will enable them to succeed and to achieve their potential. This is an exciting time to join the directorate as we continue to develop our services and accommodation to enhance the student experience.
Role
The post of Wellbeing/Mental Health Team Manager is responsible, under the direction of the Wellbeing Services Manager, for the leadership, management and development of the Wellbeing/Mental Health Team. Working closely with the Wellbeing Services Manager and the management team in Student Welfare, the role-holder will contribute to the setting of a high-performance culture and motivate colleagues to deliver a range of high quality services in an innovative environment.
The post is to promote and embed an inclusive and holistic wellbeing model to the university community, and will work collaboratively with colleagues across the University to deliver a whole university approach that enhances student retention, attainment and the student experience.
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is able to combine innovative approaches with management of clinical risk and safeguarding matters and strong team management skills. You will be an appropriately qualified professional with extensive experience of managing multi-disciplinary teams of professional staff, advisors and practitioners. You will be able to lead staff to manage varied and complex caseloads of students, assessing and managing the risks and providing appropriate interventions and robust referral pathways.
