This is a role where you can really make a difference!

About the Role:

As a Fire Risk Assessor at the University of Oxford, you’ll be stepping into a unique role where every day brings new challenges. Your mission will be to help the University meet its legal and regulatory obligations.

You’ll be at the heart of keeping the University safe, making sure we meet all the latest fire safety laws and regulations.

A brief part of what you will be doing:

  •  Be an integral part of a New Fire Safety Vision:Help us launch a brand-new Fire Risk Assessment program across the University, using a suite of bespoke templates built upon PAS-79,   but that go further - enabling a more pragmatic and effective assessment to be made of our unique building stock, and the activities taking place within.

  •  Inspect and Innovate:Get hands-on inspecting our current fire safety measures and making recommendations for improvements. You’ll help us figure out what needs fixing and suggest   smart ways to get it done in order to keep our buildings safe for everyone.

  •  Create retrospective Fire Strategies to enable on-going management of fire safety:Work on gathering and collating fire safety information for a wide mix of buildings – from ancient,   world-famous landmarks to high-tech labs and student residences. You'll make sure each building has the right facilities and management systems in place to ensure the fire strategy can work effectively.

  •  Stay Ahead of the Game:Stay on top of the latest fire safety laws, trends, and best practices by attending training, meetings, and conferences. Bring new ideas to the table and help us   continue to innovate and improve our safety culture through the EveryDaySafe programme.

What We’re Looking For:

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

  • A proactive and independent approach to work, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team.

Desirable Qualifications and Skills:
