About the role:

The Portfolio Manager is an exciting new role within the Imperial Clinical Trials Unit (ICTU), based within the clinical trial Operations team. You will be responsible for overseeing the ICTU trial portfolio and activities to ensure delivery to the highest standards, in line with projected timelines and budget, and in compliance with applicable regulations.

What you would be doing:

As Portfolio Manager, you will support the senior operational team by taking a lead on the efficient set-up of new trial awards, overseeing delivery of key milestones, reviewing & reporting on metrics across the portfolio and ensuring efficient closeout of all activities.

You will undertake a wide range of trial activities for ICTU studies across all stages of the research lifecycle, establishing and maintaining strong and effective working relationships with ICTU Operations Managers, Trial Managers, across the ICTU team, as well as with Investigators.  You will also line manage the Unit Clinical Trial Administrators, assist with training and development programmes for the wider Unit group and collaborate with the Director of Operations with the implementation of new and refined processes and systems to ensure standardisation, consistency and optimal functioning across all activities.

You will have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a biomedical/scientific field
  • Experience of clinical research management at a senior level
  • Experience in the line management of research staff
  • Expert knowledge of the governance and legislative framework for conducting clinical research studies, including Good Clinical Practice
  • Evidence of preparing regulatory and ethics submissions, as well as other relevant trial management documentation.
  • Strong project management skills
  • A flexible approach to working and a desire to develop knowledge.

Further Information

This full time and fixed term post is available for two years in the first. You will be based at Stadium House, Wood Lane, close to Wood Lane and White City tube stations.
