Applications are invited for a research position within the condensed matter physics group in the Department of Physics & Astronomy at the University of Manchester. The successful candidate will join a vibrant team of researchers who have been at the forefront of graphene research since its discovery in 2004 and will work on a series of projects relating to graphene and other 2D materials funded by the EPSRC, European Commission and a range of other international funders.
The post is available from 1 January for a period of 24 months. The project will focus on the investigation of the catalytic and ion transport properties of new 2D materials. The successful candidate should have already submitted their PhD dissertation (or equivalent) in Physics, Chemistry, Material Science or related discipline. Specialist experience in electrochemistry, device micro-fabrication in clean room environment or precision electrical measurements would be considerable advantage. The candidate should also be well-organised and self-motivated, with excellent communication skills. A strong publication record in internationally peer-reviewed journals would be a considerable advantage.
